     We are a comprehensive exterior millwork company, specializing in British West Indies, Key West and Caribbean style architecture.  Column companies are a dime a dozen, there is a shutter company on every corner and anybody with a truck and some hand tools can claim to be a siding installer.  At Hardie Boys we design, manufacture and install an original and extensive line of high quality exterior millwork including columns, shutters, louvers and railings to name a few.

     While the vast majority of millwork/woodworking companies focus on interior cabinets, moldings and furniture, we decided to take on the challenge of building exterior products that will withstand the harsh elements of the tropics.  In order to achieve this goal we use only the highest quality materials and accept nothing less than the best craftmanship when building our products. 

Island Style

     Most vacations are taken on islands.  Anybody who has been knows the sinking feeling you get as your stay in paradise is coming to an end.  This is one of the reasons that British West Indies and Key West style homes are becoming evermore popular in South Florida and the Keys.  Why not come home from a hard days work to a home with lush tropical landscaping and some of the same archititectural details as that Bahamian resort you visited last summer.  This style of architecture, with inviting outdoor living spaces defined by columns, louvers, railings, brackets and shutters inspired by designs found on homes throughout the Caribbean, is what we excel at.

     British West Indies architecture is characterized by clean lines, covered porches or lanais and no shortage of windows.  A typical British West Indies home will have stucco at the first floor and horizontal lap siding at the second floor capped with a metal roof.  Louvered shutters, bahama shutters and louvers shade living areas from the sun but still take advantage of the invigorating ocean breezes.  Columns adorned with brackets line balconies and patios.  At the soffits, tongue and groove roof decking is supported by structural truss tails.
